Barcelona is more than a city — it is a living, breathing source of inspiration. From the vibrant street life and colorful architecture to the calm waves along the coastline, the city shapes my artwork in countless ways. Each print is a personal interpretation of the city’s energy, capturing fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed: a sunlit alley, a reflection on a puddle, the curve of a tiled roof, or a sailboat drifting along the harbor. Through linocut, these observations are transformed into textured, hand-printed artworks that carry the spirit of the city. This blog explores how I translate everyday life into prints, including the thought process behind sketching, selecting patterns, and deciding on composition. I also discuss how walking, observing, and slowing down to really notice details has become a fundamental part of my creative process. Readers will gain insight into how environment and observation inform artistic expression and discover how Barcelona, with all its colors, rhythms, and contrasts, becomes an enduring muse for my linocut prints.
